Being able to ride around trees is a frigging art form baby, and its one of the coolest things to do when your on the slopes, there is nothing like whipping in and out of trees as you head down. It really does help you refine your sense of balance, reaction time and ability to gauge your speed in unexpected terrain. When you learn how to shred trees you will find out that you can get super creative way more than jibbling or hitting jumps.
Step 1 Pick a Place - Now there are some great places out there but some of the best are found in British columbia interior, Whistler and California. They have those nice pine trees. If you are looking for skinny trees you find those in Japan and im sure other places like Aspen, Vermont and Maine. The best thing about riding this way is you can do it anywhere trees grow
Step 2 Pick you line - Look at the first two or three trees your planing to turn through, when you drop and make those epic turns through the first tow the rest will come naturally. You just have to think fast and keep picking which section your going toward next.
Step 3 Look at the spaces, not the trees - Now when you pick your line make sure there is enough space between the trees for you to turn without trying to hard, you want it smooth. If you find a line thats tight you might want to stop and readjust your course, Look around the trees not at them as you will go for them that way
Step 4 Grab a buddy - Go with a friend as if you get knocked out and it does happen someone is there to sort you out, maker sure to wear goggles too as some of those pines can take your eye out.
Step 5 Prepare yourself mentally - Be confident , know your going to make that turn and be ready for the next one.
Step 6 Progress at your own pace - Know your limits man, thats the key, it should be fun not dangerous, start small and work up from there. and watch out for bigfoot:)
